Clonidine Hydrochloride

Clonidine Hydrochloride is a type of alpha-adrenergic agonist and antihypertensive agent. This is an FDA-approved tablet medication used in hypertension or high blood pressure along with other prescriptions. This is also used for the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

What condition does Clonidine Hydrochloride treat?

Clonidine Hydrochloride is a prescription medicine used to treat hypertension. Blood pressure helps your blood move around your body. It may be different at different times of the day. Usually, there are no signs of hypertension. The only way of knowing that your blood pressure is high is to have it checked regularly.

This medicine lowers blood pressure by lessening the levels of certain chemicals in your blood. This lets your blood vessels relax and your heartbeat more slowly and easily.

How does Clonidine Hydrochloride work?

Clonidine Hydrochloride works by stimulating alphareceptors in the brain. This decreases the nerve signals that are sent from the brain to the blood vessels that cause them to narrow and contract. As a result, the blood vessels are permitted to widen and relax. This increases the amount of space in the blood vessels and lessens the pressure inside them. This prescription is usually an additional treatment for people whose blood pressure has not been lowered enough with other medicine
