Grace Hill –
More than 3 years ago, I was told by my doctor that I have idiopathic myelofibrosis that is causing my severe anemia. And because of this, I am to have regular monthly blood transfusions because my body is unable to create healthy red blood cells. It’s something I had to live with. Then last year, my doctor shifted my medication to danazol and after taking it for 8 months, finally, my body is now able to produce its own healthy red blood cells. I did experience some slight dizziness and joint pain for the first 4 months but I’m willing to deal with it anytime than having to go on transfusions monthly for the rest of my life. I can now function normally again.
